PE Police annihilate Springrose, all Grand Challenge results last weekend

PE Police made a stern statement when they thrashed Springrose 73-15 in Mount Croix on Saturday in their Grand Challenge match-up on Saturday.

Following their 22-12 defeat against Kruisfontein United two weeks ago, PE Police certainly displayed a telling redemption in their prospects for the league moving forward.

In an upset, Despatch lost their first game in the Grand Challenge so far, when they went down 31-21 to Gardens at home.

NMMU and Parks both had byes on Saturday, but continued their resilient form when they both achieved wins two weeks ago. NMMU beat United Barbarians 27-10 and Parks also thumped Springrose 41-15 away from home.

Three games did not see a day’s play on Saturday, those were as follows: United Barbarians vs Born Fighters, Gelvandale Wallabies vs PE Crusaders, PE Harlequins vs Central.

Heading into the second round of the league now, the top five and bottom five of each of each group will content in a round-robin phase. The top five of Group A are: Despatch, Gardens, Star of Hope, Grahamstown Brumbies and Progress.

The top five of Group B are: Parks, PE Harlequins, NMMU, PE Police and Kruisfontein United.
