PE Police win Southern Kings curtain-raiser, all Grand Challenge club rugby results

The Eastern Province Rugby Union Grand Challenge kicked off to its fourth round over the long weekend, with somewhat tumultuous results setting sight thus far.

Playing as a curtain-raiser to the Southern Kings 44-3 drubbing of the Melbourne Rebels at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, the PE Harlequins lost their first Grand Challenge 2017 encounter when they went down 37-24 to PE Police.

Springrose once again demised to meek form of late and went down 42-15 to NMMU in New Brighton, while Despatch maintained their unbeaten run and showed more redemption after a dismal Super 12, when they beat Star of Hope 38-28 in Uitenhage.

In another Uitenhage clash, Progress continued their resilient form thus far with a 50-19 win over the Gelvandale Wallabies in Rosedale.
