Two teenagers are expected in court on Wednesday after they were arrested on Monday night by police in Port Elizabeth in possession of a bakkie that was allegedly hijacked in King Williams Town last year.

According to Police spokesman, Captain Andre Beetge, the vehicle was reportedly hijacked in August 2016 and was found at Wells Estate.

“The number plate’s registrations were switched - that was discovered after the vehicle was searched," he said.

“Officers thought it was suspicious as the white ford Bantam bakkie was driving without headlights along Jijana Street, Wells Estate.”

He said that the suspects, both aged 18 years old, are expected before Motherwell Magistrate's Court on Wednesday on charge of possession of hijacked vehicle.
