Pearson cricket sweeping up wins against Andrew Rabie, Westering
In the Port Elizabeth City Zone for the CSA Coca Cola Schools T20 Challenge, Pearson High 1st XI played Andrew Rabie last weekend and won by a thumping 171 runs.
Pearson batted first and projected a mammoth total of 253/4 in their 20 lot of overs, with Raeez Harrison scoring an unbeaten 104 off just 47 balls – smashing eight fours and 10 sixes.
Also unbeaten, Cody Roberts smashed 50 off just 20 balls, which included five fours and four sixes. Also contributing sternly, Jared Froneman scored 32 off 21 balls.
With Andrew Rabie then getting all taken-out for a meek 82 runs, there saw three three-wicket hauls in Pearson’s bowling spell, as Roberts achieved 3/2, Alex Draai 3/10 and Deovaan Essen 3/14 bowling figures respectively.
In a cricket derby against Westering High, Pearson 1st XI played a 50-over match and won by four wickets after getting Westering all out for 102 in the first innings. Rodwill Baatjies achieved astonishing bowling figures of 3/1, with Draai (3/23) and Harrison (2/25) firmly backing him up with the ball.
Slightly less convincing with the bat, Pearson then scored 105/6 as they achieved their target, with Harrison scoring 31 and Froneman 26.

2nd XI (35-over match): Pearson won by seven wickets. Westering- 130/9 (Josh Honey 3/26); Pearson- 131/3 in 18 overs (Delron Sumons 57 not out and Bryce Collins 31).
U15A (35-over match): Pearson won by eight wickets. Westering- 65 all out (Du Preez Stander 4/16); Pearson- 66/2 in seven overs (Jayde Ross 32).
U14A (35-over match): Pearson won by two wickets. Westering- 178/6. Pearson- 179/8 (Eric Venter 65 not out and Connor Nel 24).
