Police appeal for leads after JBay taxi owner and his driver gunned down

Police in Jeffreys Bay on Monday appealed for information from the public that might assist them in solving two cases of murder that occurred in the town over the weekend.

According to police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, a taxi owner and his driver were fatally shot inside a house on Sunday, at around 18:15.

"It is alleged that three men, two armed with firearms stormed into a house in John Dube Street, Mandela area, in Jeffrey’s Bay and fatally shot a taxi owner, Mthobeli Matyumza (51) and his driver, Sivuyile Ntontole (32)," he said.

"It is alleged that the three men then fled without taking anything from the house. 

"The motive for the incident is unknown and the police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist with the arrest of the suspects to contact Crime Stop 08600 10111 or the nearest police station."
