Police appeal for leads after man severely assaulted and robbed at Alexandria farm

A case of house robbery is being investigated by police following an incident that took place on a farm in Alexandria over the weekend. 

"It is alleged that the victim in his early sixties was attacked whilst in his home by two unknown males.

"He had been severely beaten," said police in a statement.

"The suspects fled with his bakkie, which was later recovered. A .38 special revolver is believed to have also been taken.

"The victim was taken to a local hospital and is in a stable condition."

Police added that details of the incident are still unclear and a team of investigators are utilizing all the necessary resources and sophisticated aids to trace and track the perpetrators of this incident.
