Police appeal for leads after retail outlet robbery in Bluewater Bay

Police in Port Elizabeth have appealed to the public to help them with information that can help them in their investigations after a retail outlet in Bluewater Bay was robbed on Tuesday night just before 20:00.

"As the security was busy with closing routines, nine suspects entered the store and produced at least six firearms," said police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge.

"All the suspects were masked and wore gloves. They ordered all persons in the store to lay down and robbed the till points as well as the control room."

Capt Beetge said that a substantial amount of money was taken and afterwards the suspects fled the scene in a white Toyota Quantum minibus.

"No shots were fired and no persons were injured in the incident," he described.

"Any person that could assist the police in this investigation can contact the investigating officers at the Motherwell Serious Violent Crime Unit at 072 962 7788 or alternatively 08600 10111."
