Police make dagga bust at Jeffreys Bay hair salon

Operation Fiela II in Jeffreys Bay resulted in the closure of drug post that police said was masquerading as a hair salon after they seized nine kilograms of dagga at the premises on Friday.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, said that in the premises, police seized 9 kilograms of dagga with a street value of R18 020 and arrested a 46-year-old man for possession of dagga.

"During the operation, two business premises were also fined for operating without trading permits. Two foreign nationals were nabbed for contravening immigration laws," he added.

The suspects are due to appear in Humansdorp Magistrate's Court on Monday for their respective charges.

Humansdorp Cluster Commander, Brigadier John Lebok, commended officials from various departments for helping in the operation.

"This operation is continuing and several of these drug posts are being closed in several areas with the information shared by the community," added Brig Lebok.
