A 21-year old Port Elizabeth man is expected in court on Monday after he handed himself in and was arrested on a charge of murder over the weekend.

"It is alleged that on Saturday evening, the suspect was sleeping in his home in Fairview informal settlement when an unknown person kicked open his door," said police spokesperson, Capt Sandra Janse van Rensburg.

"As the deceased entered, a scuffle ensued and the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed the 32-year-old alleged intruder in the chest and back."
