Protecting property owners one email at a time

Great news for property buyers and sellers!

If you want to know whether your real estate agent is reputable, look no further than their email signature.

The Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB) has introduced PrivySeal to help consumers distinguish between bogus and legitimate estate agents. “PrivySeal gives professional estate agents a digital seal and hyperlinked Verification Certificate which confirms the current registration status of the estate agents you’re working with, in real-time,” says Charlotte Vermaak, principal of Chas Everitt Nelson Mandela Bay.

The PrivySeal is only displayed once the EAAB database has confirmed that the estate agent concerned is fully compliant, registered and has a valid Fidelity Fund Certificate.

By giving property buyers and sellers peace of mind that their affairs are being handled by a qualified and recognised professional, agents participating in the scheme are helping to improve the industry’s reputation - one email at a time.

“Chas Everitt was recently named the Number One real estate business for implementing the PrivySeal consumer protection initiative,” says Vermaak. “We’re proud of our agents’ ethos and approach to their profession and how they uphold our name as well as the reputation of the industry.”
