R8 million Neave Street Park project launched in Schauderville

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality on Thursday launched the construction of the Neave Street Park project, in Schauderville.

According to Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Executive Mayor, this is the first of the Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) driven Korsten and Schauderville development master-plan.

"The multi-purpose and recreational park will assist in creating a safe space for the residents in the area, especially the youth. Once complete, the park will greatly serve the schools nearby as well as the northern half of Schauderville," he said.

"The end of January 2019 is the earmarked period for the completion of the project.

"The project has a construction value of just over R8 million, with R2 million of that directed towards capacitating and empowering 8 local SMME contractors."
