Ramaphosa to unveil new HIV, Aids and Orphans Care Centre in East London

The Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa, is expected to unveil the Vuyo Mbuli Empilisweni HIV, Aids and Orphans Care Centre in Ndevana near East London on Sunday.

Ramaphosa will also be unveiling the newly upgraded Cecilia Makiwane Hospital in Mdantsane Township on the same day. The refurbishing of which has cost R1.6 Billion.

The Deputy President's spokesperson Tyrone Seale, said that the centre is a community initiative which started in 1999, and that the centres main focus is on HIV and Aids orphans and to trace defaulters around the area.

"The centre is also working with care givers of people who are on Antiretroviral Therapy and Tuberculosis treatment. The facility has also been commissioned by the Department of Health to trace treatment defaulters in the area," said Seale.

"The Deputy President will be supported by Eastern Cape Premier Mr Phumulo Masaulle, Buffalo City Executive Mayor Mr Xola Phakathi and Members of the Executive Council."
