Renewal and revival: The Body Specialists merges with Azarel Health for enhanced offerings

One of Port Elizabeth’s popular health and beauty establishments, The Body Specialists, is now under new management after being taken over by another PE girl, Candice-Leigh Hunter (nee Everard), who also owns the equally successful Azarel Health and Wellness.

“Merging The Body Specialists and Azarel means we can now offer all our clients a more diverse range of wellness and weightloss treatments under one roof - and in a personal and comfortable environment with extensively trained, friendly and professional therapists as well as state-of-the-art-equipment,” says Candice.

“I look forward to bringing The Body Specialists under my wing, and to continue Lorna’s legacy and the high standard she has set in providing the best health, beauty and weightloss aids.”

While The Body Specialists was previously well-known for body shaping and non-intrusive fat reduction treatments, she says they will soon be introducing Live Blood Analysis, a SCIO machine (a device which works to relieve stress that is caused by physical, emotional and mental trauma), Germopulse Pain and Inflammation therapy, Exercise Science and Programming, Kinesiology, Counselling, Stress Management, Allergy testing and much more as part of the new broader offering.

They are also going to be the local distributors of leading weightloss and health brands such as Neogenesis Health Products, GNLD, Lifewave Patches, Nutritech RSA, Musclelift as well as Musclebeast and Musclebeauty.

“Locals will no longer need to look outside of the Bay for such treatments and products,” says Candice, who has obtained many therapy related qualifications over the years.

Always passionate about beauty, health, fitness and wellness, she said she started with a Cosmologist and Somatologist qualification before enrolling in Reiki, Tibetan Vitaflex Reflexology and counselling courses.

She later studied an Exercise Science and Coaching Diploma and enrolled for a Master’s degree in Ethno Medicine. She is currently completing her PhD in the same field.

“Your health is your wealth – and worth more than silver or gold,” says Candice.
