Roadworks on the R75 between Port Elizabeth and Despatch until Friday

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) would like to notify travellers that road works is scheduled to take place on the R75 between Port Elizabeth and Despatch until Friday, 2 March 2018.

The planned traffic accommodation is as follows:

  • The right-hand side lane between Dyke Road and Spondo Road intersection, and an extra 100m beyond Spondo Road Intersection will be closed for the week when travelling from Port Elizabeth to Despatch.
  • The right-hand side lane will be closed 100 meters away from Spondo intersection up until Spondo Intersection due to road works, when you are travelling from Despatch to Port Elizabeth.   
  • The left lane between Johnson Road and Perseverance Road will be closed for the week when travelling from Port Elizabeth to Despatch. Once this section of work is completed the left lane will be reopened and the right lane will be closed.
  • The right lane between Johnson Road and Ralo Road will be closed on Wednesday, 28 February and Thursday, 1 March between 8:30am until 4pm when travelling from Despatch towards Port Elizabeth.
  • Roadworks to be expected at the corner of R75 and Johnson Road as of 1 March 2018. Road users to expect traffic delays.

“Motorists are asked to plan their trips accordingly, consider alternative routes and to use caution when making use of the road,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region’s Manager.
