Senior Citizen of the Year 2015 launched in Port Elizabeth

Miriam Makeba once said: “Age is... wisdom – if one has lived one’s life properly”

Senior Citizens of our Community are people who are instilled with experience, wisdom and expertise...and it is only fitting that we acknowledge and celebrate them in true style!

BLG Logistics together with Spec-Savers are sponsoring the Golden Oldies Organisation in order to implement a “Senior Citizen of the Year” initiative... whereby people are invited to submit Nominations; Nominees are then invited to an Information Workshop; they then send in their Motivation packs, which are judged by independent Judges who finally select three Finalists across three age Categories, namely:

  • 70 – 79 years
  • 80 – 89 years
  • 90+ years

Those Finalists then receive special Certificates of Recognition at a Gala Event that is the culmination of the process and, at which, the three Category Winners and then Overall Winner is announced- thus paying tribute to these wonderful citizens who offer so much to those younger than them!

Entry Forms will be available online (www.bvdm.co.za), at select Spec-Savers Stores within the Metro and from 041 395 6600 –as of Friday, 7 August.

Entries close – Friday 28 August and the Nominees will then be advised as to further dates

Albert Einstein wrote: “I live in that solitude that is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity!”

We look forward to encouraging that “deliciousness” amongst our Senior Citizens of the Year!
