Seniors honoured at 2018 Senior Citizen of the Year Awards

Local senior citizens were honoured and celebrated at the annual Senior Citizen of the Year (SCOTY) awards at the Kiplings Restaurant in the Boardwalk Hotel, in Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth.

Celebrating their 6th year, the SCOTY awards encourage and reward the senior citizens of Port Elizabeth who are living exemplary lives and personifying ‘Active Aging’ by contributing to their community through creative and recreational activities.

The SCOTY awards aim to inspire the elderly to contribute to their local community and stay active during their retirement. They hope to bridge the gap between the youth and senior citizens by inspiring the youth to gain wisdom and experience from their seniors.
