St Andrew’s Prep student Josh Furtner makes good showing

Having honoured a friend’s request to ride her horse in his first ever Horse Riding Evening competition at the Port Elizabeth Polocrosse competition earlier this month, Josh Furtner took up the challenge with only a week to train in a new discipline and a new horse on wet grounds.

"Representing St Andrew’s Prep in the SANESA Primary School 70cm, Grade 7 pupil, Josh Furtner, and Quiluette moved from 5th (Dressage) to 4th (clear round Show Jumping) and ended 2nd (Cross Country)," described Stephen Penney, Marketing & Communications Officer.

He said that last weekend, the (SANESA)Core League Eastern Cape Qualifier was held and Josh, riding Quiluette Legend, won Show-jumping 80cm and Level 2 Dressage and came 2nd in Working Hunter 70cm.
