Incidents of stock theft have been a crime of concern within the Grahamstown Cluster and over a period great losses have been suffered by both established and emerging farmers.

"On 27 July 12 goats were stolen from a farm in Peddie. During a full moon operation detectives from the stock theft unit in Grahamstown followed up on information and recovered all 12 goats in a kraal at Nqwenerhana Peddie," said police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender.

"A 32 year old male was arrested. He faces a charge of stock theft and will appear in the Peddie Magistrate's court tomorrow 3rd August."

Brigadier David Kanuka thanked the team and also urged the community to continue working with the community.

“You are the eyes and ears of the SAPS. Your assistance is imperative in crime fighting," he said.
