Suspect tracing operation nets 22 wanted offenders in Port Alfred

A team of seven officers from Nemato led by the branch commander, Detective Sergeant Stewart Abrahams, gathered information on their outstanding suspects for March and April and went on a spree since 02:00 on Thursday morning.

"They arrested 22 suspects for various contact crimes," said police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender.

"15 suspects, including four females have face charges of serious assault; three males face charges of Breach of protection order; three suspects were linked and arrested on a charge of Housebreaking and theft."

Captain Govender said that one male faces a charge of malicious damage to property.

"The suspects are aged between 16 and 54." 

All suspects will appear in the Port Alfred Magistrate's Court this week.
