Swift action by Walmer police leads to arrest of two and recovery of stolen goods

Swift reaction by Walmer police in Port Elizabeth led to the arrest of two alleged house robbery suspects over the weekend.

"It is alleged that on Saturday morning, at approximately 02:00, the complainant (33 years old) heard a knock on his bedroom window, when one of the suspects, who is known to the complainant requested him to open the door for him," described police spokesperson, Capt Sandra Janse Van Rensburg.

"Once the complainant opened the door, the two suspects entered and went to the complainant’s bedroom.

"The one suspect was armed with a firearm and they took a computer, laptop and two computer towers."

Robbers traced and arrested by Walmer police

She said that the complainant was repairing these computers.

"The complainant contacted the Walmer SAPS and provided them with information regarding the suspects," Capt Janse Van Rensburg said.

"They followed up on the information and arrested to the two suspects, aged 31 and 33 years old on charges of house robbery."

The stolen items was recovered.

Both suspects will appear in the Port Elizabeth New Law Courts on Monday.
