Teen arrested in East London dagga bust

Two alleged dagga dealers, including a teen, are expected in court on Monday after they were busted they East London police over the weekend.

"During routine patrols Beacon Bay Crime Prevention members noticed a young male selling dagga in Nompumelelo," said police spokesperson, Captain Hazel Mqala.

"They approached both the buyer, seller and they fled."

She said that police officers, however, managed to arrest the seller.

"He then informed the members that he was selling for someone else and led the them to the house," said Capt Mqala.

"The house was then searched and the large quantity of dagga and an undisclosed amount of money was found.

"The second suspect was then arrested."

Two suspects expected in East London court for dealing in dagga

Both were charged for dealing in dagga

Capt Mqala said that 11 bompies of dagga to the street value of R110; 55 bompies and +-50kg dagga to the estimated street value of R5 550 was confiscated.

"The suspects are aged 17 and 36 years of age and they will appear in the East London Magistrate's Court on Monday.'
