Three suspects arrested in Burgersdorp drug bust on Sunday

Burgersdorp - A successful combined intelligence driven operation by members of Crime Intelligence, the COCC Team and Burgersdorp Vispol and reservists resulted in the arrest of three suspects for alleged drug dealing on Sunday evening at 22:00.

"Positive information was followed up on at a house in Thembisa locality," described police spokesperson, Capt Ursula Roelofse.

"On searching the house, the drugs were found in a panel of the electric stove in the kitchen."

She said that 195 Mandrax tablets and 56 crystal meth straws with an estimated street value of R22 300 together with cash was seized.

"Three suspects age 23, 22 and 22 were arrested."

Acting SAPS Cluster Commander, Col Mpho Rabela, commended the combined forces on the successfull arrest and recovery of drugs.

"The dealing in drugs will not be tolerated in our small towns destroying our communities," he said.

"Thank you to the community for the positive information and taking the SAPS hand in the fight against crime together we will turn the tide against the criminals."
