Two arrested following a business burglary in Ntabankulu

Ntabankulu CPF members commended for apprehending suspect

Ntabankulu - Mount Ayliff SAPS Cluster Commander, Brig Mthuthuzeli Mtukushe, on Friday applauded the excellent and extraordinary work done by Ntabankulu Community Policing Forum (CPF) members in arresting two suspects for alleged business burglary.

"The suspects were arrested at Mzalalweni Location, Mvenyane A/A in Ntabankulu," said police spokesperson, W/O Zilungile Nkamba.

"The professional manner in which the community dealt with the arrest and not taking law into their hands is highly commendable."

W/O Nkamba said that on Thursday, at about 18:25, the two suspects allegedly forcefully kicked open the door at a certain shop in the area.

"They stole groceries and an undisclosed amount of cash," he said.

"The CPF together with the community members conducted a door to door search in the households and they found the groceries and cash at the home of suspect."

W/O Nkamba said that they kept the suspect without hurting him and contacted the police.

"The suspect mentioned another suspect, who was his accomplice in the commission of crime."

Mt Ayliff police took both male suspects -  aged 28 and 29 year old, into custody.

They will appear before court on Monday facing Business Burglary charge.
