Two arrested in Bluewater Bay with dagga worth R300 000

Two male suspects, aged 34 and 27 years, are expected in court after they were arrested on Thursday afternoon, at 14:00, after more than 23 kilograms of dagga was found in their vehicle.

"This followed after SAPS K9 Unit pulled over a Red VW Polo on the N2 close to the Bluewater Bay turn off, in Port Elizabeth" said police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge.

"On searching the vehicle, 15 bags of dagga with an estimated street value of about R300 000 were discovered in the boot of the vehicle."

He added that the two suspects were arrested and will appear before the Motherwell Magistrate's Court on Monday on charges of dealing in dagga.

"The role that drugs play in the commission of other serious crimes cannot be overlooked, and therefore SAPS will continue to remove drugs and drug traffickers from our streets," said Motherwell Cluster Commander, Major General Dawie Rabie.
