Two busted with dagga worth over R218 000 after police chase in Britstown

Two men are expected in court soon after they were arrested by police in possession of dagga worth over R218 000 after a high speed police chase.

Police in Britstown were on routine patrols when they spotted a suspicious looking vehicle on Monday, at about 04:20, after the driver sped-off when he was flagged down by the police," said Northern Cape police.

"A chase ensued up until the Mziwabantu area where the two male suspects attempted to dispose of the dagga from the vehicle.

"Police found four big bags and one plastic shopping bag in the suspects' possession."

The two suspects were arrested and charged for being in possession of dagga.

"The dagga weighs 43kg and has an estimated street value of the dagga is R218 500," police said.

"Police also confiscated their vehicle as it was used in the commission of crime."
