Two caught in the act after tying-up herdsman and slaughtering his cattle

Two Port Elizabeth men are expected in court on Friday after they were arrested by police on Thursday afternoon after allegedly overpowering a local herdsman and slaughtered three of his cattle in Perseverance.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge; "This followed after a herdsman claiming to have been tied up by suspects, who were busy slaughtering his cattle, managed to stop patrolling SAPS TRT members at Kohler Street, Perseverance".

“After he explained to them what happened, the members searched and found a white KIA vehicle in the veld close by and caught the two suspects red handed loading meat into its boot," described Captain Beetge.

“Two slaughtered cattle as well as one cow with the sinews on its hind legs cut, were found.

"Police arrested the two suspects, aged 22 and 26 years old, and they will be appearing in the Motherwell Magistrate's Court on Friday on charges of stock theft.”
