The SAPS' East London tactical response team (TRT) of the SAPS on Tuesday arrested two suspects for dealing and possession of dagga, following drug raid in a house in NU2, Mdantsane.

"We have long been suspecting they were selling drugs from their home," said police spokesperson, Captain Nkosikho Mzuku.

"Police confiscated 48 big bags of dagga, weighing 260kg with an estimated street value of R260 000."

He said that the two suspects, 33 and 44 years old, are due to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate's Court soon on charges of dealing and possession of dagga.

Mdantsane cluster commander, Major General Henry Vos, commended his members for the job well-done.

“This success forms part of SAPS initiatives to rid the communities we serve of the scourge of drugs and manifestations,” he said.
