Two women from a Lady Grey are expected in court soon after they were busted by police for drug dealing.

According to police information, on Wednesday, at 20:00, two officers were busy with crime prevention duties when they attended to a complaint at Transwilger where the two were fighting and smoking dagga.

“On their arrival, the mother gave the police the dagga she found in the house. The two then ran away,” described police spokesperson, Capt Ursula Roelofse.

“Early on Thursday morning, at about 06:00, the members, who were still doing their investigation went and searched a house at Steve Tshwete locality.”

They members found the two women, age 21 and 24 years, and arrested them and confiscated all the drugs and cash in the house.

“It is alleged that they had to sell the dagga on behalf of a dealer.”

The Cluster Commander, Brigadier Xakavu, commended the members as substance abuse is a problem in Transwilger and the criminals must feel the presence of the SAPS.
