Two women and a man appear in Cradock court over stolen meat

Cradock - Three suspects, among them two women, aged between 28 and 32 years old, and one male aged 50 years old, appeared before the Cradock Magistrate's Court on charges relating to possession of stolen meat. 

"The arrests followed after information was received and followed up from a source on Friday evening," said police spokesperson, Capt Lariane Jonker. 

"Cradock shift members and the crime office members then found six carcasses in the possession of the three accused in the Lingelihle locality of Cradock."

She said that a maroon Isuzu KB 250 bakkie as well as  six carcasses, with an estimated value of R9 000, were confiscated.

"The case is under further investigation."
