Two women and a man arrested during Duncan Village mandrax bust

Mdantsane OCC members followed up on an information they received on Tuesday and ended up apprehending three suspects in the Duncan Village area of Mdantsane, East London, for drug dealing.

"On the arrival at the place of residence, they found 304 full mandrax tablets and seven half mandrax tablets to the estimated street value of R27 675," described police spokesperson, Capt Hazel Mqala.

"Two female suspects, aged 57 and 65 years, as well as a 25-year- old male, have been arrested on a charge of dealing in mandrax."

Duncan Village mandrax bust commended

SAPS Duncan Village Station Commander, Colonel Mkhombiseni Mkhize, commended the members on the successful work they have done.

"Lets clean the streets and bring the perpetrators to justice," he said.

All three suspects will appear in the East London Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
