A manhunt is currently underway in Uitenhage as police officers attempt to identify and trace five armed suspects, who allegedly robbed a liquor store in the Main Street, Despatch,  at about 15:30 on Thursday afternoon.

The suspects took cash from the tills, cellphones and liquor from the shelves and fled from the scene in a white bakkie," said police spokesperson, Capt Gerda Swart.

"No shots were fired and no one sustained any injuries."

She said that the South African Police Service encourages the community to work with the police and to come forward with information relating to the business robbery, which can lead to the arrest and conviction of the criminals.
