Uitenhage police need help identifying murder victim and tracing suspects

Detectives in Uitenhage are seeking the assistance of the community to help identify the suspect/s and locate the next-of-kin of an unknown male, whose body was discovered at about 11:30 on Saturday, lying next to the R334, Uitenhage.

"Members from SAPS Uitenhage were busy conducting routine visible checkpoints on the R334 at about 11:30 on 18 August 2018, when members noticed the body of an unknown male lying face down in the bushes next to the road," described police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart.

"The unidentified male had multiple gunshot wounds to the head and his upper body. The male is believed to be in his thirties, weighs about 50kg and is about 1,67m tall. He was wearing black trousers, black tekkies and a black hoodie."

Captain Swart said that the man had no identification in his possession.  

"Uitenhage detectives are investigating a case of murder and anyone, who might be able to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect/s or who can assist with the identification of the deceased or tracinghis next-of-kin, are requested to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Jacques Nell on 084 811 2975, office number 041 996 4527 or Crime Stop 08600 10111."
