Veld fire conditions, extreme heat and severe thunderstorms expected
The South African Weather Service on Monday morning said that extreme heat, veld fire conditions and severe thunderstorms are expected in parts of the Eastern Cape - mostly in the interior.
"Extreme heat is expected over the Dr Beyers Naude and Inxuba Yethemba Local Municipalities," the weather office said.
It added that veld fire conditions were expected in the Gariep, Inkwanca, Inxuba Yethemba, Tsolwana and Dr Beyers Naude local municipalities.
Severe thunderstorms are expected in the Blue Crane Route, Lukanji, Engcobo up to the Elundini, Ntabankulu and Matatiele local municipalities.
