VIDEO: Stormers outmuscle Eagles in George

In very wet conditions at Outeniqua Park, George, on Saturday, the Stormers took on the SWD Eagles in a pre-season, warm-up friendly and won the 57-14 – running in nine tries to the Eagles’ two.

The Stormers took some time to settle into the swing of things in heavying conditions as they only scored their first try on the 20th minute through hooker, Chad Solomon.

Through a yellow card issued to Eagles scrumhalf, Boela Abrahams, on the 30th minute, the two sides managed to ironically score a try in tandem, as the visitors failed to fully capitalize on the one-player-short Eagles side. The scores were 19-7 at half-time.

Soon after half-time, Cheslin Kolbe and captain, Dillan Leyds, managed to alleviate any sustained pressure in the first half, as they scored a try apiece to stretch their lead away and sink the Eagles prospects.

As the pressure further mounted for the home side, the Stormers kept seeping in tries throughout the rest of the second half, as they claimed the 57-14 victory.
