Walmer police appeal for assistance in finding missing woman

Port Elizabeth - Walmer detectives in Port Elizabeth have appealed to the public for assistance in tracing a 52-year-old local woman, who went missing on Sunday.

According to police information, Anneke Gouws was residing at the Port Elizabeth Mental Health in Union Road, Walmer.

"She attended church in Albert Road, Walmer, with a group of people and was seen walking out," said police spokesperson, Capt Sandra Janse Van Rensbur.

"Ms Gouws was wearing a green hoodie top, mustard coloured shirt with a black jeans and white tekkies.

"It is alleged that she was last seen at 5 Ways Spar on Sunday afternoon."

She added that police visited hospitals in the area in an attempt to trace her.

"Police is appealing to anyone who can assist in locating Ms Gouws to urgently contact D/Cst Unathi Sneli on 0415811496 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station."
