Cllr David Willemse (middle back), Ward Councillor for Ward 8, donated just over R5 000 to Parkdene Senior Secondary School towards hiring graduation gowns for the school’s first ever Valedictory ceremony on Monday where matriculants received their exam registration numbers and stationery.

The funds come from the R100 000 Ward Based Projects. Here the principal of the school, Mr Rodney Cupido receives the cheque. At the back on the far left is Mr Frans Oktober, Chairperson of the School Governing Body, and on the far left is Mr Jewel Jonkers, Circuit Team Manager at Western Cape Education Department, George. In front are from left, Mequette Hendricks (Deputy Head girl), Aldominique Rossouw (Deputy Head boy), Coleen Mathabata (Head girl) and Allan Gxekwa (Head boy).

The 140 matriculants neatly draped in their graduation gowns with their examregistration numbers at their Valedictory ceremony in the Parkdene School hall. Parents and teachers attended the event with Pastor Allan Spies being the guest speaker.
