Warriors Cubs: results, player stats at 2016/17 CSA Cubs Week

After winning four out of their five games at the Cricket South Africa Cubs Week last week in Stellenbosch, the Warriors Cubs will have left the Cape holding their heads up high, as possibly one of the top three sides at the cricket week.

What cost the Eastern Cape franchise, may have been their very first and only loss to the Titans Cubs when they lost by 104 runs at the Van Der Stel Cricket Club in Stellenbosch. The Titans batted first and scored 271/8 in their 50-over spell, before getting the Warriors Cubs all out for 167.

Following that encounter, the Titans Cubs went on to win the remainder of their scheduled fixtures, before losing to the Lions Cubs in the final – which gave the Lions Cubs their Cubs Week title. The Lions, however, suffered an upset loss to Zimbabwe Cubs the day before the final by just two runs.

The Warriors Cubs then went on to beat the Cobras Cubs by 21 runs at Spes Bona Cricket Club (Warriors 229/9, Cobras 208); Zimbabwe by 151 runs at Stellenbosch University Ground (Warriors 256/6, Zimbabwe 105); Dolphins by 24 runs at Stellenbosch and Districts Cricket Club (Warriors 240/7, Dolphins 216) and South Africa U17 Invitational XI by 8 wickets at Tassies Oval (SA U17 XI 134, Warriors 136/2).
