 Warriors gear up for final two T20 Challenge matches

The Warriors go into battle mode with two T20 Challenge matches remaining in this season’s competition. Currently second on the log the Warriors will play the Cobras on Friday night in Port Elizabeth and then head back to East London on Sunday for their match against the log leaders, Titans.

Captain, Jon-Jon Smuts played a magnificent innings against the Dolphins in East London last night with an unbeaten 107 off 58 balls.

Both Colin Ingram (55 off 26 balls) and Christiaan Jonker (36 off 20 balls) made substantial contributions to the Warriors chasing down the Dolphins 217 with 6 balls to spare.

The bowlers were put under pressure after the Dolphins won the toss and elected to bat. Kevin Pietersen who scored 81 off 46 balls and Morne van Wyk (77 off 52) were the Dolphins star players with Basheer Walters claiming 3 for 46 and Jon-Jon Smuts only conceding 23 runs in his four overs.

The Warriors have included two new players in their squad for the remaining 2 matches. Titans player, 32 year old left hand batsman, Qaasim Adams has been included in the squad on a loan basis and Protea’s Kyle Abbott will join the team on Friday.
