Water shut down to parts of Nelson Mandela Bay on Sunday and Monday

Water shutdown are so that Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality can effect repairs to reduce water losses

Port Elizabeth - The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to inform residents that water will be shut down in parts of the City for maintenance on Monday, the 15th of April 2019.

"The maintenance carried out will help the NMBM Water Loss Programme to assist the Metro in reducing the water losses within the jurisdiction of the Municipal boundary," said Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Communications and Media Management Officer, Mthubanzi Mniki .

Mniki said that the following areas will be affected:

  • Humewood
  • South End
  • Summerstrand

"The water supply will be disrupted between 9H00and 13H00," he said.

Water Shutdown to parts of Uitenhage

"Please be advised that the water supply to parts of Alexander Park Industrial and Logistics Park in Uitenhage will be shut off on Sunday, 14 April 2019 at approximately 09H00," Mniki said.

He said that this is due to maintenance work being carried out at the Scheepers Hoogte reservoir.

"Work is expected to be completed the same day and supply should be restored by late afternoon.

"Water tankers will be dispatched to the affected areas as required.

"We apologize for any inconvenience caused."
