Weekend Rainfall figures - much of the rain avoids Bay's catchment areas

According to data released by the Port Elizabeth office of the South African Weather Service, Flower Reserve, Patensie, St Albans, Woodridge, Queenstown and Mossel Bay, received much of the rainfall that fell over the weekend.

No heavy rains fell in the Nelson Mandela Bay and Kouga municipalities' catchment areas as many would have wished.

Forecast for Monday and Tuesday

MONDAY 11/03/2019: 

Garth Sampson, the SA Weather Service's Client Liaison Officer for the Eastern Cape, on Friday said that a cut-off low maintains its position near Cape Town, with vast areas of the Eastern Cape affected by thunderstorms during the day.

TUESDAY12/03/2019: 

"The cut-of flow moves past south of Cape Agulhas.  Most of the Eastern Cape rain and thundershowers are confined to areas east of East London."
