What winter: Enjoy real artisanal ice-cream with Han-Made Ice-cream!

Since their launch, Han-Made Ice-cream has become extremely popular amongst those who have had the pleasure of tasting this oh-so-smooth-and-creamy artisanal ice cream.

The story of Han-Made Ice Cream is as amazing as each delightful scoop.

Hannah, the creator of this wonderful brand, enjoyed making ice-cream at home for her friends and family. Her husband, a self-proclaimed ice-cream connoisseur, fell in love with each new flavour and suggested that Hannah share them with the rest of Port Elizabeth.

Towards the end of 2013, Hannah bought containers, created her own logo and started selling her ice-cream to a close community of those who had the pleasure of a previous tasting.  However, word soon got out about how good Han-Made Ice-cream was and so the orders continued to grow.

One of the great things about Han-Made Ice-cream, I found, is that Hannah uses the freshest of ingredients. Being health conscious myself, I was overjoyed to learn that her products do not contain any hidden additives or artificial components.

I found her flavour pallet incredible, and this is no doubt one of the many reasons why everybody who has tried Han-Made Ice-cream keeps coming back for more!

“I like to mix things up, and try different flavours that I believe will work,” Hannah told me, adding; “I have a lot of flavours that are always in circulation. But I have a standard vanilla, chocolate, vanilla choc chip, chocolate choc chip and mint choc chip. I also make fruit ice-cream, which is all made with real fruit and includes strawberry, blueberry, banana as well as banana and almond.”

Her premium speciality ice creams include peanut butter, biscuit crumble and coffee.

“I also do a craft beer ice cream, where I use Dockside Brewery beers with dark chocolate and citrus peels, as well as a Matcha tea and coconut ice cream with the Matcha tea sourced from The Tea Merchant,” Hannah said.

As word got around, people began to ask Hannah if she could cater for their events and weddings, which she now does. So, if you are planning a special occasion, simply give her a call and order your preferred flavour in bulk, or even request your own customised flavour to suit your taste buds or your event theme. You can even organise a taste testing with her to see what you would prefer!

For those, like me, who can never live without ice-cream, come rain or sunshine, Han-Made has also established an Ice Cream Club, where, for only R130 per month, Hannah will personally deliver to your home three different and delightful flavours of Han-Made Ice-cream in 500ml tubs. Now, that’s a great concept -I can’t think of a better club out there!
