Woman arrested en-route to Port Elizabeth with dagga worth R37 000

A 24-year-old woman is expected in court on Friday after she was arrested by the Butterworth Highway Police Unit for possession of dagga.

"The suspect was arrested on Thursday at about 06:30 along the N2 road near Ndabakazi Station outside Butterworth," said police spokeperson, Captain Jackson Manatha.

"Police stopped a suspicious car and searched it.

"The suspect was a passenger in the car. She was from Mthatha on her way to Port Elizabeth."

He said that the dagga has a weight of 36,5kg with a street value of R37 000.

She will appear before the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Friday on a charge of possession of dagga.
