Woman busted in Grahamstown transporting dagga worth over R79 000

A 35-year-old woman is expected in the Grahamstown Magistrate's Court on Monday after she was busted by local police transporting dagga worth over R79 000.

According to police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, the woman was arrested on Thursday night at around 21:40.

"The Grahamstown cluster task team stopped a  long-distance bus on the N2 oppossite the Settlers Monument in Grahamstown," she described.

"Two bags containing compressed dagga were found and traced to a 35-year-old female travelling  from Durban enroute to  Riversdale.

"She was then arrested for possession of dagga weighing 26.4kg and valued R79 200.

"She will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrates court on Monday."
