Woman busted in Grahamstown transporting dagga worth R60 000 to PE

A 35-year-old woman is expected in court this week after she was arrested by Grahamstown police transporting dagga worth around R60 000 to Port Elizabeth.

"On Sunday night, members of Joza Crime Prevention Unit were conducting a vehicle check point in Grahamstown when they searched a Toyota Quantum that was travelling on the N2 from Mthatha towards Port Elizabeth," described police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender.

"A 35-year old female passenger was arrested with two red bags, which contained 6 bulks of compressed dagga valued at R60 000.

"She faces a charge of possession of dagga and will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate's Court this week."
