Woman disappears from mother's Kwazakele home

Police in Kwazakele, Port Elizabeth, are urgently seeking the community’s assistance in tracing a 41-year-old woman, who mysteriously disappeared from her mother’s home on 20 December.

According to police information, Noxolo Prudence Maxham arrived in Kwazakele from Cape Town on 19 November.

"She is ill and is unfamiliar with the area," said police spokesperson, Col Priscilla Naidu.

"On 20 December, at about 08:45, she told her mother that she was going for a walk. She then left home – 5532 Jakavula Street, and never returned."

Col Naidu said that her mother reported her missing on the same day at SAPS Kwazakele.

"At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a peach coloured T-shirt," she added.

"Anyone who can assist in tracing Ms Maxham or may have any information relating to her disappearance is asked to contact the nearest police station or SAPS Kwazakele on 041 408 7739/40 or Mrs Sijaku (mother) on 083 893 9420."
