Minister Motsoaledi is expected to deliver the keynote address at the annual World TB Day Commemorations at Mdantsane, East London.

The World TB Day is commemorated globally in March to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB, in line with global efforts to end the TB epidemic.

The theme of this year's World TB Day is: “It`s time for Religious leaders, Parliamentarians and Legislators to lead the fight to end TB in South Africa.”

Government will utilise this opportunity to encourage public representatives including civil society leaders to play a leading role in the fight against Tuberculosis (TB).

The event will further strengthen efforts towards finding the missing and undiagnosed TB patients in communities and with the aim to link them to treatment and care.
