Baby news for another Goat

It seems that there was something in the Springbok team’s drinking water, because it has just become known that another Boks player is going to be a father – this time the beloved scrumhalf Faf de Klerk.

In photos of a baby shower that was shared on Instagram over the weekend, Faf’s wife, Miné, shows baby magic in a flowing summer dress in front of a sign that reads “Baba De Klerk”, surrounded by green and gold balloons.

The photos were shared by Jandré Koch, who is married to Springbok tighthead prop Vincent Koch.

“We celebrate the beautiful mother in the making,” reads the entry on Instagram along with a quote from Psalm 139.

Miné is a pharmacist by profession. The couple were married on 1 October 2022 at the La Paris estate in Franschhoek.

Faf is part of a string of Boks players who have shared baby news since their World Cup Rugby victory in November: Malcolm Marx, Eben Etzebeth, Handré Pollard and Herschel Jantjies are part of the 2024 dads club together with Faf.

Eben and his wife, Anlia, announced on Saturday that their first child was born on January 16.
