Bedingham currently leading run scorer in England

There is currently nothing wrong with David Bedingham’s timing for Durham in England’s county cricket tournament.

The Protea batsman has already scored 694 runs in nine innings for his team at an average of 86.75. He also scored two hundreds (101 and 103) against Lancashire in Blackpool in his latest match.

The Lancashire bowling attack includes international players such as Nathan Lyon (Australia) and Saqib Mahmood (England).

Bedingham has already hit three hundreds and a fifty in the tournament and he has chased the ball over the boundary line 16 times.

The 30-year-old batsman undoubtedly has the potential to become South Africa’s own Mike Hussey.

Just like the Australian star, he also only made his international debut late in his career after making his mark on domestic cricket.

Bedingham’s technique is rock solid, while he also does not hesitate to rush a poor delivery to the boundary.

Yet Cricket South Africa (KSA) did not offer him a national contract; a decision that was criticized by Herschelle Gibbs and Dale Steyn.

  • Bedingham’s latest shows in England:

Durham v Lancashire: 101 and 103

Durham v Hampshire: 144

Durham v Essex: 52 and 33 not out

Durham v Worcester: 38 and 138

Durham v Warwickshire: 49 and 36.
