Blitzbokke flexes some muscles in the 2nd half

Henry

The Blitzboks started their Perth sevens campaign on a winning note when they beat Canada 24 – 7 in their opening game.

After a few tense moments in the first half in particular – as evidenced by the half-time score of 10 – 7 – the team caught fire in the second half to square off with the North Americans for the 11th time in a row.

In particular, captain Selvyn Davids played a cracking shot and he fooled the defenders like a waffle artist, while he also impressed with his good feel for the game.

He was rewarded with two tries.

Then Quewin Nortjé and Tristan Leyds also exhibited their three pressing skills to finally complete a comfortable Blitzbok victory.

Still, it was still far from a perfect performance.

The South Africans missed a few tackles, while they also struggled at times with their handling.

Their next match is against Spain at 12:22.
