There are seven forwards on the Springboks’ bench for this weekend’s important World Cup match against Ireland at the Stade de France.
Deon Fourie, Ox Nche, Trevor Nyakane, Jean Kleyn, RG Snyman, Marco van Staden and Kwagga Smith will provide the necessary spark in the second half.
Cobus Reinach is the only full-back on the substitutes’ bench. The blistering scrum-half can also serve on the wing if needed.
Faf de Klerk and Manie Libbok form the link pair, with Damian Willemse in the last stronghold. Kurt-Lee Arendse and Cheslin Kolbe are the two speedsters who can also foil the Irish with their nimble footwork.
Then Eben Etzebeth has recovered enough from his shoulder injury to wear the number four jersey, while Jasper Wiese, Pieter-Steph du Toit and Siya Kolisi form the loose trio.
The match starts at 21:00 on Saturday and the action will be broadcast live on SuperSport.
